Cindy Soong represents a new model of Chinese designer.  She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology/FIT in New York and used to work for Alexander Wang among other top designers. Her own fashion brand and design studio were established in 2012 when she decided to come to China to “express my own way of fashion, not following aesthetics of anyone else”.

Cindy is changing the vision of the romantic Chinese girl into a strong international personality by mixing Chinese cultural ingredients with the most up-to-date global trends.

The result is amazing, and it is not difficult to predict global success for this new eastern star.

At Shanghai Fashion Week AW2016,CINDY SOONG showed her new collection inspired by the gothic band Evanescence. It takes the audience on a journey through the memories of her youth. The collection brings to mind rock and roll’s power mixed with clear electronic music, and the lazy American dream life of dissipation that brings people back to the gorgeous 1920s.

The combination of all these elements gives the new collection a deeper meaning. Modern humans tend to ignore our spiritual world. The singer's voice is just like a shuttle between heaven and hell and completely does not care about human society’s darkness and complexity.

As with all Soong’s designs,  this collection has a clean and structured look. Simple is always powerful. The continuation of the black and gray color scheme, leaves a space for people to think.

This season she also added white and red, to represent passion. Romantic accessories are not declining in a romantic vision, but are rather used to show the strength of the sentiments in a well determined personality.

CINDY SOONG was founded in 2012 and is known for its strong aesthetic of mixing various materials and different constructional structures to emphasize the toughness and spiritual freedom of women. Instead of emphasizing the feminine and tenuous features, the brand’s design aesthetics focus more on women’s diligence, self-consciousness and independence.
